Happy to know the right Dharma, cured of atopic dermatitis
Summary of Le Thien Loi's Story
Mrs. Le Thien Loi, Dharma name Thich Nu Lieu Giac Thien, a
51-year-old from Hạ Long, Quảng Ninh, as she transitioned from Mahayana
Buddhism to the Right Dharma and found liberation from suffering and
illness.
Introduction and Journey to the Right Dharma
Mrs. Lợi first encountered the Right Dharma in 2020. Prior
to that, she practiced Mahayana Buddhism. Her path shifted after an aunt, who
followed the Venerable Master's teachings, introduced her to "The Path to
Buddha's Land" and various lectures by Venerable Master Thích Thông Lạc
and Master Thích Mật Hạnh available online. Reading and listening to these
teachings brought her a profound realization, leading her to fully embrace and
practice the Right Dharma.
Transformation from Illness Thanks to the Right Dharma
- Before discovering the Right Dharma, Mrs. Loi suffered
from numerous illnesses. She spent considerable time and money seeking various
treatments, including medication, rituals, astrological offerings, and prayers,
all to no avail.
- Upon learning the Right Dharma, she began to apply the
practice of mental cultivation (Right method of directing the mind) to
dispel illnesses, working to let go of body and mind, greed, anger,
delusion, and negative habits. She came to understand the impermanence
of life and ceased clinging to what was not truly hers.
- She specifically focused on eliminating the sensations of
her chronic atopic dermatitis. Relying on the Master's verbal affirmations (tác
ý), her condition gradually improved.
- Despite the lingering discomfort of her illness, her mind
remained unperturbed. When she visited the monastery, she experienced no pain,
and her mind felt peaceful, unburdened by thoughts of sickness.
Right method of directing the mind (Directing the mind to
another form/state, then the present unwholesome form/state will be destroyed).
Ms. Lợi shared her personal affirmations: "The body is
impermanent, feelings are impermanent. This karmic sensation on the skin, you
shall leave this body immediately, cease at once and depart." She also
affirmed, "My body and mind fear no illness, no pain, and no death."
As a result, her mind now enjoys profound peace, unaffected by illness.
Impression of Dharma Name and Single Meal Practice
When the Master visited the North and bestowed upon her a
Dharma name, Ms. Lợi inwardly vowed to strictly uphold the precepts, striving
to be worthy of her new name and worthy of being a disciple of the Buddha, the
Venerable Master, and Master Mật Hạnh. Since the Master's departure, she has
been able to eat only one meal a day without feeling hungry, a stark
contrast to her past when, plagued by discomfort, she ate frequently and drank
milk continuously yet still felt weak. She feels a miraculous "force"
from the Master has helped her overcome this challenge.
Aspiration for Further Study and Advice to All
Ms. Lợi has enrolled in "Youth Class" and
"Preparations for Entering the Monastery" courses, aspiring to one
day have the opportunity to practice at the monastery. She finds these studies
invaluable, expanding her knowledge and ensuring her practice remains true to
the Dharma. She wishes for everyone to discover the Right Dharma to achieve
liberation and end the suffering caused by illness and greed. She emphasizes
that it would be a great pity not to know the Right Dharma when the teachings
of the Buddha, the Venerable Master, and Master Mật Hạnh are available. She
advises everyone to diligently learn and practice to master suffering.
